| The trick for us this year was to find a place where we had enough room for 3 adult men and three women, as well as one child. We settled on a house you offered through Luxury Beach Vacation Rentals - Islander III, in Clearwater Beach. It turned out to be a very good decision.
As well as needing to address the space issue, we also needed to address entertainment at the house. First and foremost we needed a pool. Second we needed a view of water and lastly, we needed a dock to fish off of. What a wonderful house we ended up with! We all loved it!
The property we rented was a beautiful home. The openness provided enough space for all of us to be in the living room and kitchen area at the same time and never feeling crowded. All of the conveniences we needed were available. Laundry facilities, Linens, full kitchen, internet access, even an iron.
The fishing was so much fun for all of us. There was always something happening in the water during the day. We all wanted to be on the dock. We say pelicans, snowy egrets, blue herons and even a huge jelly fish! The birds came up quite close, hoping to receive some shrimp bait, or even our catch! My 11 year old son actually spent more time on the dock watching the wildlife or fishing than he did in the pool.
The bait and tackle shop near Pier 60 was very helpful and was a great place to start for an inexperienced crew like us The guys in our group also went ocean fishing with the Double Eagle charter. They brought home 31 gray snapper that we were able to cook up in the beautiful kitchen. That was terrific!
Pier 60 is definitely within walking distance. We did take a car there at times but often we would walk and taxi home. That was very reasonable. It eliminated the need to rent bikes or scooters. The vendors and shops were a lot of fun. We also enjoyed miniature golf that I would highly recommend to families.
The grocery store is also within walking distance. Depending on the purchases, it can be done.
We enjoyed a number of restaurants in your area:
Island Way (we walked! So nice)
Frenchys
Crabby Bills
Whiskey Joes (a bit of a ride but worth it)
One night we ordered pizza and it was also very good
We have taken quite a few vacations over the years to Florida. We have stayed in many houses as well. But, this house was the first house we stayed at that offered the best fishing right out our back door, provided a pool as well as a view of water. It was wonderful. Thanks Nathan and Brian for a great trip. We hope to be back soon.
Sincerely, Terry |
